ISHP Leadership: Officers and Board Members
  • Description: Members who would like to become more involved in ISHP Leadership.  See Job Descriptions on Website.  Leadership skills learned here also translate to your work and interests elsewhere.

  • Commencement: New Officers are elected in Spring/Summer and take office at the following Fall Meeting.

    • Industry Relations Committee
  • Description: Help with soliciting exhibitors and sponsors for meetings/program to increase industry financial support for ISHP. Work with the Executive Director to submit grants/requests for company sponsorship at the meetings. Learn grant application process, submit grant applications.

    • Education and Programs
  • Description: Pharmacists and technicians to help with planning and preparation for meetings/programs. The Education Committee is a combination of the Programs Council and the Education Council. Review surveys, plan programs, identify speakers, budgeting, prepare for meetings, etc.

  • Commencement: Spring Meeting 2007, Fall Meeting 2007, ongoing
  • Tenure: Meetings approximately once a month. Duties divided among all committee members, estimating 10-20 hours total per educational program.

    • Entertainment/Activity Coordinator
  • Description: One individual to oversee/coordinate entertainment and fun activities at meeting/programs. Committee members to review ideas and suggestions, plan and coordinate individual events/activities. Get sponsors for prizes? (Possible examples: Fun Run, Golf Tourney (see below), Game night?, Poker night?, Trap Shooting?, Bike Rides?,…..)
  • Steward: President and Education Committee
  • Commencement: Spring Meeting 2007, Fall Meeting 2007, ongoing
  • Tenure: The Coordinator may spend 10-20 hours prior to each meeting (Spring and Fall), and should attend the Education Committee meetings (in person or by phone) in two months prior to each meeting. Other members: Depends on project or activity, est. 10-20 hours per year.

  • Description: General secretarial and clerical assistance for Executive Director, especially the month before Spring and Fall Meetings. Answer phones, word processing, data entry, collate materials, go to bank, pick up mail, run errands, stuff envelopes, etc.

  • Commencement: 4 weeks before Spring Meeting, 4 weeks before Fall Meeting
  • Tenure: Any and all help will be appreciated, but we could really use 3-4 members to schedule 3-4 hours once a week at ISHP office for the four weeks before each meeting, (For example, you schedule 3-4 hours each Tuesday for 4 weeks; somebody else does Wednesdays, etc.) Total 12-16 hours twice a year.

    • New Practitioner Forum
  • Description: This is a new forum with duties to be determined by the members. The ultimate objective is to recruit, retain and increase involvement of new practitioners through select program topics, discussion groups, and fun night activities.

    • Ambasadors At Large
  • Description: Set up and stand by ISHP display and at various functions, such as ISU White Coat Ceremony, ISU Pharmacy Fair, Pharmacy Day at the Legislature, ?Tri-State Convention, ISHP Meetings, ASHP meetings, etc. Need a North Idaho person to be an ISHP Ambassador to WSU and Spokane area hospital pharmacists. Maybe also somebody to be an Ambassador to University of Montana. May need to pick up and return display to Executive Director for each event.

    • Special Ambassadors
  • Description: Do you have a favorite cause, disease state, or non-pharmacy organization? ISHP would like to appoint you as a Special ISHP Ambassador to represent ISHP and pharmacy interests with patient advocacy organizations such as American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, Epilepsy Foundation, Alzheimer's Association, etc. Keep track of their activities, represent ISHP and pharmacy, and maybe give a presentation to their members on medications and pharmacy-related matters. Maybe set up and stand by ISHP display and at functions of these groups. We can have as many Ambassadors to these groups as we have interested members.

    • National Pharmacy Week Coordinator
